Featuring a capsule collection of 30 new designs, the collection was split into 2 contrasting stories - Rajah Maharajah and Deco Dinosaur. The Rajah Maharajah collection took inspiration from the pomp and splendour of Colonial India, where status and importance is emphasised by bold colour and rich detail. The Deco Dinosaur collection combines elegant Art Deco inspired shapes with raw edged prehistoric and punk elements to create a disturbingly beautiful hybrid.
By showing two stories side by side, I created an interesting dynamic between the two - bold colour and rich embellishment VS sharp angular shapes in black studded in spikes.
Focusing on avant garde statement pieces which pushed the limitations of accessories design, each piece was crafted using couture techniques such as beading, hand embroidery and saddle stitching.

THE OPENING NIGHT
The exhibition opening was a great success with half the work sold on the night. A small group of 70 invited guests mingled, enjoyed drinks & nibbles and after party performances by drag artist, Miss Moneesha.
